First sketchbook assignment for Drawing 1-2
Imagine that you found a time machine. Cool huh! You can travel anywhere you want into the past and visit a moment in time that you learned about in history class. Maybe you are in the crowd as Napoleon addresses his troops. Maybe you are in the group when some early humans figure out how to make fire!
Or perhaps you want to travel to the future and find out it its all robots and zombies. What do you think that future is like? Who would you meet?
Here is the catch: you have to interact with someone from the time to gain access to the time machine and come home.
This is meant to be a figure in action cartoon with you and someone from a different time period. You get to plan out the scene, what the figures are doing, what the environment is and how to color it. That is right, you need to color the whole scene filling 90% of the page with full pressure color. You will need to create smooth color work and either use full pressure directly, or build to full pressure by blending with white.
We will start today and plan out as much as possible, however it will not be due until next week (one week from today) so much of the finishing work is to be dome at home and in tutorial.
For an “A”:

For an “A”:
- You must be in the drawing interacting with someone from that time.
- Image must be full pressure color covering 90% of the page.
- The environment should show where you are.
- Figures are built using the ball and stick method, but should be clean cartoons when finished.
